2026 Software Inspirations

Thursday and Saturday in person AND by Zoom (recording provided).

Join Bits ‘n Pieces and BERNINA Educator Debbi Lashbrook in the new Building Blocks of Software 9. In 4 of the 10 lessons, you will create and digitize a multi hooped wall quilt for your Happy Place, led by Bits ‘n Pieces. The balance of the lessons will include Lettering, Editing, Digitizing and Applique – lessons created by Debbi Lashbrook with additional inspiration from Bits ‘n Pieces. These lessons will include two parts – basic techniques for beginners and additional techniques covering more advanced topics for those with software experience.

All 10 lessons – $200.00 (add $15.00 for postage and handling for mailing)

Live Classes (in person or Zoom) – Thursdays at 10:30 am -OR- Saturdays at 10:30 am includes Zoom recording. Includes access to the 2026 Software Building Blocks 3 on the BERNINA Skill Hub.

Each month’s lesson will dive into a practical use for embroidery software and showcase the tools to bring your vision to life. Supporting new and existing software users alike, Software Inspirations will open up a new world of embroidery possibilities with the help of the latest software, Version 9.

Twilight Garden

Zoom class, join in at any time!

Introducing Twilight Garden, a new sew- and quilt-along project designed to highlight key features of BERNINA machines. This project uses decorative sewing techniques, BERNINA accessories, and the special features of BERNINA machines to create a unique and modern quilt, finishing 64″ x 64″ OR 96″ x 96″.

The quilt is broken down into sections by technique, feature, or accessory used and sorted into 12 “Lessons”. Each lesson includes videos of the technique and a written handout to instruct how to complete the technique. Additional handouts are included for the smaller size.

BERNINA V9 Software, an Introduction

This lesson is an introduction to BERNINA V9 software, including understanding the two levels (Creator & DesignerPlus), the toolbars, editing/digitizing tools (branching, weld, auto-digitize), built-in tutorials, and seamless machine connectivity via Wi-Fi or USB. Lessons cover everything from basic lettering and design to advanced techniques like creating appliqués, customizing thread charts, and using open/closed objects for unique effects, all designed for both beginners and experienced embroiderer.

Computer Skills Class

As a machine embroiderer, the use of a computer becomes essential.

This class covers the basics of Windows® 11 and its components: Windows® Explorer, setting up, organizing and saving files, downloading and unzipping embroidery designs, plus the essentials of DIME Embroidery Tool Shed, a FREE embroidery software for ALL machine embroiders.
